eQuest and University of Connecticut Identify Key Characteristics of Effective Recruitment Marketing

Ongoing Study Results in Significant Understanding of Candidate Response Predictability

San Ramon, CA – November 4, 2014 – eQuest, today announced its collaboration with researchers in the University of Connecticut’s Department of Psychology for ongoing studies that link specific job advertisement information to candidate response and behaviors.

The results of the initial study show that job candidates’ behavioral intentions to apply for a job were significantly predicted by the content of job advertisements. It underscores the importance of specific elements in creating an employer brand image that enhances organizational attraction.

“Knowing the characteristics of a job ad that converts a job seeker into an applicant is an important area of research with clear implications for organizational practice,” said Dev Dalal, Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Senior Research Affiliate in the Industrial Psychology Applications Center at the University of Connecticut. “eQuest’s data offers us a rich database of real job ads and candidate behaviors to study how organizations can attract talented employees in the early stages of selection. Through our ongoing relationship with eQuest, we look forward to producing additional valuable research around recruitment marketing.”

“We are pleased to be collaborating with the University of Connecticut.  This important research exemplifies eQuest’s relentless pursuit to provide our customers with the actionable insights they require to maximize the ROI on their recruitment marketing spend.” said David Bernstein, VP of Big Data for HR at eQuest.
